          1917

          Zhong Sibin  钟泗滨 ( Cheong Soo Pieng )  ( 1917-1983 ) was born in Xiamen,

           

          Fujian Province, in China.

             

          He studied painting in the Xiamen Art Academy, then in the Shanghai Xinhua

           

          Art Academy.

           He held his first solo exhibition.  

          1946

          He moved to Singapore.  He taught in the Nanyang Academy of Art, Singapore.

           

          He is one of the four artists and educators, pioneers of Singapore, with his friends :

           

          Chen Chong Swee, Liu Kang, Chen Wen-Hsi.

             

          He left to visit Bali with Chen Wen Hsi , Chen Zongrui and Liu Kang.
